Project Overview
This photobook was designed as a special gift for a 40th-anniversary birthday.
The journey to create this photobook started with deciding on the central theme. Rather than focusing on life milestones, I decided to highlight travel photos, capturing the essence of journeys taken over the years.
Client
Personal project.
Design Concept
In “Travel the World: The Photo Chronicles,” trips are organised by year and country, presenting a chronological journey through time.
The very first page of the photobook features an abstract world map showcasing the continents visited, setting the stage for the narrative. Following this, a timeline spread provides a detailed overview of countries, and cities explored.
The following spreads are organized in chronological order and dedicated to specific countries, with all the cities visited in each country combined.
The design layout of the photobook is built on a modular grid system, facilitating the inclusion of diverse photo layouts and ensuring a visually appealing and well-structured photobook.
Features
The square format 20×20 cm is comfortable to use, show, and store. This size, along with a large number of pages, balances the weight of the book.
Hardcover with lay-flat binding. Printed on high-quality photo paper.
Software and Tools
- Adobe Photoshop: Used for photo editing and layout composition.
- Adobe Illustrator: Used for creating vector images of the world map.
